ACADEMY ARTS THEATRE SCHOOL
The Old Post Office, 6a The Green, Writtle, Chelmsford, Essex. CM1 3DU
T: 01245-422595 E: email@example.com
Theatre School classes are for students from the age of 7-21 years and are action packed, driven and funfiled. The students enjoy working hard in a close family-like, supportive environment with other friendly and talented kids.
Whether the students seriously wish to pursue a career in the arts, or if they would like to build their confidence, or even if they simply enjoy being part of an exciting & energised group of young performers, there is something for everyone.
In these classes the students will develop technique and performance skills in dance, drama and singing. A warm-up preceeds workshops ineach discipline to focus and prepare the students for class.
Through out the year the students will prepare monologues, dances and songs to be used for professional auditions, our annual talent competition and for LAMDA Acting and Musical Theatre exams.
During the autumn and winter terms students will study more advanced techniques in each discipline and in the spring/summer term the students rehearse intensely for the school production which is at the end of the school year.
As the THEATRE SCHOOL is a musical theatre production company we need all prospective new students to take part in all parts of the class, however we only expect the students to be competent at two of the disciplines with the potential to improve in the third.
Joining the Academy Arts is not at all daunting. We invite prospective new members to come down and participate for the day so they get a feel for what we do and so as we can see how they gel with usEvery lesson the Academy Arts students do a physical warm-up and work on production numbers.
We will assess newcomers ability whilst in class. We will hear new members sing either in the singing class with the rest of the group or individually if they would prefer, to assess which harmony group they should join. If you have a short monologue, poem or joke of own choice, (no longer than 1 min) we would love to hear it on the day. This is purely for those who feel acting is their strong point and want to allow us to see their ability on the trial day.
Please do not feel at all intimidated by the admission process, it is after all supposed to be fun.
If you have had a lovely time with us and wish to join the THEATRE SCHOOL and if we feel you would be an assett to the school you will asked to fill in a Registration form, Term Invoice, Uniform order form, and return to us asap.
